We left 12 acres and moved to a one bedroom apartment!

After four years of truly enjoying open land, fields, cows, nature and minimal people, we decided to move back to more people and less land. We are building a home outside of the city, but just a few minutes from a real coffee house, The Daily Grind, and some local eateries. In the mean time we chose to live in an area called South Park. We are living in an apartment about 800 square feet with our two pups, Duck and Rox Puff, and our kitty named Shadow.

Even though I am an apartment locator by trade, it has been a while since I have lived in an apartment. Here is the real truth. We have said this more than once.... maybe 10 different times over the past two months, this is fun! No maintenance, no storm worries, great garage parking, walk to Earth Fare organic market (we call it our pantry), restaurants all around, the mall, book store, an off leash dog park not too far, easy to get here and there...on and on. We love it!

What is the downside of living with neighbors?

The only thing we have found to be a bit annoying is taking the pups for walks when we were used to letting them out for the whole day then having to watch where we step because some folks "gasp" do not pick up after their pets. We love using the amenities such as the pool and gym and chatting with our neighbors. Oh, did I mention all of the pups???

To name a few: Floyd, Pearl, Charlie and Kendra are sweet puppies that roll and tumble when they meet and then we have Putter, Hoagie, Cinnomon, Chupie, Dudley, Barkley (he wears a collar that jingles), Bently - a little white Westie, Tennessee Jed (named after a Greatful Dead song), a few too grumpy to talk with pups, Luca - a Daschaund puppy that likes to play with Floyd and the list goes on. They have become our neighbors too, parading by our Brownstone type of walk-out front door.

Back to the downside, I forgot one thing. A mid rise has communal fire alarms that are really loud. So poop and an occasional alarm are on the down side. Not too bad for all of the fun that we are having living in an apartment. Maybe our stay in the new house will be shorter than we thought.
